On behalf of the entire DeSales University community, I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Romanian American University community for the loss of Rector Smedescu. His passing ends an exciting and important chapter in the life of the University he helped to found, and which was the focus of his life. Rector Smedescu was deeply committed to cooperation between our two institutions, and perhaps the best way for us to honor his memory is to move forward as fast and as far as we can in developing programmatic collaboration. Mr. Smedescu was a true leader and powerful voice in support of the advanced learning that universities provide. He will be missed.

Our hearts go out to Rector Smedescu's family, and we ask God's blessing on the students, faculty and staff of Romanian American University.
